Sharon J. Junck

Sharon Judeen Junck, age 84, passed away Monday, August 17t, 2026, at Providence Medical Center in Wayne, Nebraska.

She was born May 18, 1942, in Madison to Wilbur and Elverna (Michaels) Settje. She was a Madison High School graduate.

Sharon married Jerry Junck June 3, 1977, in Norfolk. The couple lived in Carroll before moving to Wayne and spent winters in Mesa, Arizona. Sharon and Jerry were professional square dance callers throughout the United States and abroad.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Jerry; sons, Paul Schaffer of Ozone, Arkansas and Kyle (Tina) Schaffer of Burlington, WA; daughter-in-law, Peg Schaffer of Wayne; thirteen grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Shari (Bob) Staudenmaier of Norfolk; a brother, Larry (Jan) Settje of Norwich, Connecticut; nieces and nephews.

Preceding Sharon in death were her parents; one son, Jeff Schaffer and sister, Jeanette (Gene) Reeves.

Services at Greenwood Cemetery ~ Wayne Monday 10:30 AM August 24th. No Visitation. 

Sharon’s family appreciates your thoughts, prayers and kindness shown to them at this time. Please join the family for a reception in the Our Savior Lutheran Church fellowship hall following the service.
