Linda L. Long
 December 26, 1948 ~ July 6, 2023

She was born in Kansas City, Missouri to Oscar L Jones, and Hilda V. Jones. She grew up water skiing at her parent's lake home.

Linda graduated from Ruskin High School in 1966. She graduated from Webster University in 1994, with a bachelors of Science degree in Accounting. After graduating from college, she worked for many years as an accountant in the federal government retiring her career from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

She was actively involved in Longview Chapel Christian Church. A huge fan of square dancing in the evenings and pickleball during her days off. Rick would take Linda trout fishing in Bennett Springs and Montauk, Missouri. She enjoyed practicing yoga and spending time with her two grandchildren. Linda was an excellent mother who enjoyed cooking, traveling, sewing, crocheting, and spoiling her grandkids.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents Oscar L. and Hilda V. Jones.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, John R. (Rick) Long of Lee's Summit, Missouri, daughter Teresa (Traci) Holman (Ward Holman) of Raytown, Missouri, daughter Becky Decker (Eddy Decker) of Stover, Missouri, daughter Debbi Long of Lee's Summit, Missouri, sister Judy L. Heckadon of Olathe, Kansas, and her grandchildren Joseph R. Decker of Raytown, Missouri and Sarah L. Holman of Raytown, Missouri.

The family would like to thank KPC Promise Hospital of Overland Park, and St. Luke's East ICU for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.mtmoriah.net for the Long family.
