Bertha May Wright

Bertha May Wright, 80, Milo, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada. Bertha was born February 26, 1940 in Sheldon, Missouri to James Ira and Hellene Francis (Leigh) Holland. She married Chester Leon Wright on May 25, 1957 in Nevada and he survives at the home.

Bertha grew up in rural Vernon County where she attended school in Bellamy and Sheldon. She worked on the family farm and in healthcare for most of her adult life, including a nursing home for several years, the State Hospital in Nevada for 22 years, and home health for an additional 3 years. She also worked at Thorco for another 5 years until her retirement. Bertha was a member of Milo Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, survivors include her children, Lonnie Joe Wright, Milo, Missouri, Terri Len Wright, Carthage, Missouri, and Rose Marie Taylor, Pensacola, Florida; grandchildren Floyd and Rex Clark; her sister, Sarah Joanne Poeltz; great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Steven Leon Wright, and one grandson, Roy Allen Clark.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
