Lyle Reves - April 12, 1933 - August 5, 2016

Donald "Lyle" Reves, 83, Burlingame, Kansas, passed away Friday, August 5, 2016, at a Topeka hospital.

He was born April 12, 1933 in Westmoreland, Kansas, the son of Donald and Delia McClelland Reves. He attended Moodyville one room school house for eight years and graduated from Westmoreland High School.

Lyle started bricklaying in 1951 under Bennett Construction Company. He received his 65 year award and pin.

Lyle married Laura Mae Fenton on November 28, 1953 in Seneca, Kansas. She survives of the home.

Lyle and Laura have square danced for over 46 years, holding many offices in Club Level, North East District and State Level as advanced ticket sales, dance coordinator, second Vice President for two years and President for two years. In 2008, they were Chairman of Ways and Means for the National Convention held in Wichita, Kansas.

They were inducted into the Kansas Square Dance Association Hall of Fame in 2013. They were members of KSDA for 46 years, Kuntry Kuzzins Square Dance Club, Plus Squares and Friendship Squares. He helped organize the Burlingame Saddle Club and taught horsemanship as well as square dancing in 4-H.

Other survivors include his four children, Steve (Cindy) Reves, Wichita, Kansas; Don (Gloria) Reves, Duncan, Nebraska; Denise (Jack) Barr, Carbondale, Kansas; Joyce (Joe) Greene, Carbondale, Kansas; eight grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and a sister, Verla (Leroy) Webster, Westmoreland, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Opal Smith, Frances Tunison and Edna Mae Taylor.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM,  Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Scranton, Kansas. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Scranton, Kansas.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, August 9, 2016, where a parish rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Scranton, Kansas.
