Joetta Ross - Died June 14, 2017

Joetta Ross, 84, of Topeka, died June 14, 2017 at Stormont-Vail Hospital, Topeka, Kansas.

She was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on January 13, 1933, the daughter of Milton Arthur and Kathryn "Gail" (Thayer) Riley.

She was a cashier for Falley's Grocery Store. Joetta was a social butterfly, and enjoyed visiting with friends and family. Her hobbies included playing cards, bingo, reading, fishing, and square dancing. She was a member of the Shooting Stars Square Dance Club in Topeka, Kansas. They joined Kansas Square Dance Association is 1980 and were members for 29 years. Serving as President for one year and on the executive council for five years. Joetta was an avid Jayhawk fan.

She married Armin D. Ross at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wathena, Kansas on August 16, 1952. They shared almost 65 years of marriage. He survives. She is also survived by two sons, Michael (Kim) Ross, and Ed (Julie) Ross, a daughter, Linda Fletcher, a sister, Suzanne Riley Jacobson, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Mark Ross and a granddaughter, Brooke Barr.

Joetta will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Monday June 19, 2017, after 2:00 PM where her family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday June 20, 2017, at 10:00 AM at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
