Al Warren Al Warren has been dancing, calling and teaching square dancing for over 29 years. He retired from the Air Force after 23 years of service. He is currently employed at Whiteman AFB in a civilian capacity. Al started dancing in 1966 with the local square dance club at Clark AFB in the Philippines. While assigned to Goose Bay AFB, Labrador, he started his career as a square dance caller in 1969 for the Goose Steppers Square Dance Club.

While serving in the Air Force, he has been club caller for many clubs and has called dances and festivals throughout the United States, as well as internationally in Japan, Philippines, Guam and Alaska.

Besides calling for two clubs (Kountry Bumkins and Single Promenaders) in Missouri, Al travels throughout a five state area in the Midwest calling dances, festivals and weekends at resorts and is currently a staff member at Compton Ridge Campground and Lodge, Branson, Missouri. He is currently a member of KAMO Callers Association and Callerlab. He feels that an important part of the Square Dance Heritage is the passing on of the knowledge and experience that one gains throughout the years. After 29 years in the activity, Al still believes in the fun and fellowship of Square Dancing and does his best to project that enjoyment through his calling.

Al was the 1993 Master of Ceremonies for the 34th annual Missouri Festival. He is a dedicated, patient and fun caller.
