2025 Square Dancers of the Year

The 2025 Square Dancers of the Year exemplifies the square dance community. People who were not sure about joining the square dance community decided to try it and now they are avid dancers. They have the spirit of a square dancer, that of “being there” when there is a need for help in a project, Stepping up for the task at hand.

In 1981, Carl and Cindy started down the square dance road by taking lessons. The beginning of new adventures and now they have met a large community of dancers all over the United States which some become friends for life.

Locally -President and Vice President, of the Red Barn Twirlers, King City Kountry Kickers and Maysville Wrangles (NW District)

Missouri Federation of Square “N Round Dance Clubs – Carl and Cindy were Treasurers for 5 years, First Vice President, President, Members of Caller Hall of Fame Committee, and Promotions Committee

The Boones were delegates for Heart of America Federation and Northwest District Square N Round Dance Clubs.

Serving on the National Square Dance Convention they were Members of the Bid Committee when Missouri Federation submitted a bid to host 64th National Square Dance Convention. On the 63rd National Square Dance Convention in Little Rock, Convention Secretary and Assistant Education Chairmen. The Boones presented the bid as Proposed General Chairman for Missouri Federation to host 67th National Square Dance Convention in Kansas City in 2018. There were General Chairman of the 67th National Square Dance Convention held in Kansas City. They did promotion and organization of the convention with 3,169 dancers from throughout the US and several foreign countries.

Now on the National Executive Committee of the National Square Dance Convention they have served as Advisors for 73rd Convention held in Milwaukee, WI 2004 and serving for the 76th Convention in Loveland, CO 2027

Currently Cindy is a Phase Advisor for Ways and Means, Program Book, Sew and Save and Secretary Committees. Carl is a Phase Advisor for Bid Session, Contra, Lines, Facilities and Sound Committees for the Convention.

At the HASSDA Festival in 2021 and 2022 held in St Joseph, MO. Maysville Wranglers and St. Joe Squares hosted the festival, and they were involved. 2023 Missouri State Festival the Boones donated the ice cream sold at the festival.

Carl and Cindy have continued to support their local club as Vice Presidents and caller booker to this day no matter what other obligations they have. They have held many local, District, State and National offices and each of those duties have been met with love of dancing and enthusiasm. The Boones always give 100% of whatever they do. Everyone they meet calls them friends. The Boones will tell you they square dance for one reason. TO HAVE FUN Missouri federation of square ‘n round dance clubs Present 2025 square dancer of the year
