A message from Jerry…

The changing of seasons reminds us that staying the same was never life’s intention. Autumn is the gentle reminder that change can be beautiful. Therefore, I am changing scenery and heading south for the winter!

Speaking of change, Nebraska had to hold their state festival in York, instead of Hastings last weekend. It was so enjoyable, and I wish to complement the committee for finding such a great venue. The facility was excellent, sound was great, and the dancing a pleasure. Tom Manning was the featured caller and did a superb job, as did all the area callers. The festival will be held in York, NE again next September. Be sure to mark it on your calendar to join us.

My winter program will begin on Monday, November 9th. The first session will be the regular Plus Workshop on Monday morning. The first A-2 Dance will be that evening. Looking forward to resuming my winter program, renewing old friendships, and making new ones. I will not have any dances or workshops on November 11th as that is Veteran’s Day. However, we can honor our Veterans early at the Plus Dance on Tuesday evening. If you are a Veteran, please wear your Veteran’s Cap so we can recognize you and say “thank you” for your service.

Looking forward to seeing everyone and hearing about your summer adventures. As always, support your local clubs and callers as they resume club dances and fall classes. They are the lifeblood of our activity.
