Dorothy Ann Lesher
 March 19, 1938 ~ July 31, 2023

Dorothy Ann Lesher, 85, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023 at Tiffany Springs Rehab. Dorothy was born on March 19, 1938 in Effingham, Kansas to William H. and Emma C. (Wigand) Wohletz.

Dorothy was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church, Kansas City, Missouri. Dorothy will forever be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

On November 29, 1958, Dorothy and Ted were united in marriage at the St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Atchison. They shared 53 years together devoted to each other.

Dorothy and Ted took Square dance lessons and were active members of the Riverbend Promenaders, Atchison. They served in many capacities on the Promenader's Board. Continuing their dancing skills, they took round dance lessons with Dale & Jeri Krug and danced with the Mo-Kan Rounders in Atchison. Joining KSDA on September 20, 1981, they were active members until August 31, 2009 – A total of 28 years Dorothy and Ted were Northeast District Chairman from 1985-1987. Progressing through the chain of command of the three vice presidents, they served a term as KSDA Presidents. Appointed KSDA Insurance Agent in 1987, Dorothy and Ted retired from this position in October of 2008, serving 21 years. This dedicated couple were members of the KSDA Executive Council for a total of 23 years.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, William H. and Emma C. Wohletz; husband of 53 years Ted A. Lesher, September 26, 2011; son, Michael E. Lesher; and daughter Amy Renee Lesher.

She is survived by three daughters, Debbie L. Bellman (Tom) of Independence, Missouri, Sandra M. Herdler (Joe) of Kearney, Missouri, Diane E. Stanton (Tom) of Omaha, Nebraska and one son David B. Lesher (Lisa) of Oak Grove, Missouri and daughter in law, Schonna Lesher of Bella Vista, Arkansas. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Megan Salter (Steve) of Surprise, Arizona; Philip Matthew Barnett, Liberty, Missouri; Laura Herron (Kevin) and Becki McLaughlin (Andrew) of Omaha, Nebraska; Alexandra Danner (Tyler) and Brianna Lesher of Oak Grove, Missouri; Val Lesher, Joplin, Missouri and Devon Lesher of Bella Vista, Arkansas. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.

Dorothy is also survived by her brothers: Alfred Wohletz, Atchison, Kansas; Robert Wohletz (Lois), Atchison, Kansas; and Carl Wohletz (Jan) Locust Grove, Virginia; sisters Delores Winters, Annapolis, Maryland and Theresa Schneider, Atchison, Kansas.

Funeral arrangements for 85-year-old Dorothy Lesher, have been scheduled for Monday, August 7, 2023 at St. Therese Catholic Church 7207 N.W. Highway 9 Kansas City, MO. The Visitation will be held from 9:30 ~ 10:30 a.m. The Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Dorothy's life will commence at 11:00 a.m. A Committal Service will follow at Resurrection North Cemetery, 5001 N.E. Cookingham Drive, Kansas City, Missouri.
